BJP Calls JKNC Manifesto Deceptive. Appoints Ram Madhav to lead J&K Polls.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Ram Madhav, former National General Secretary and RSS leader, along with Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, as election in-charges for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. This strategic move by BJP National President J.P. Nadda aims to utilize Ram Madhav’s extensive experience and deep understanding of the region, particularly his role in the abrogation of Article 370, to strengthen BJP’s campaign in Jammu and Kashmir. The appointments reflect BJP’s preparation to leverage key figures with historical significance in the area to enhance their electoral prospects.

In a press briefing earlier in the day, Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP (Lok Sabha) and Chairman of the State Election Campaign Committee for Assembly Elections 2024, along with BJP Chief Spokesperson of Jammu, Adv Sunil Sethi, termed the NC election manifesto as misleading and heap of lies, that is compiled only to mislead the voters of Jammu & Kashmir.

Senior BJP leaders further stated that the promises of JKNC like repeal of PSA, stoppage of frisking on highways and mass amnesty to the prisoners reflects their anti-people, anti-nationalist mindset and vicious agenda.

They added that JKNC promises are just a hoax that has been compiled without any thought on their practical socio-economic implications, calling it a “manifesto with no vision”.

They also pointed that JKNC’s manifesto challenges the law of the land and asked if the NC leaders are considering themselves above the Constitution, Law and the Supreme Court.

This statement comes in response to JKNC manifesto for 2024 Assembly elections where they have promised restoration of Art 370 and 35A, as well as repeal of the Public Safety Act (PSA) among its 12 guarantees to the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
