SP Leader Nawab Singh Yadav Arrested for Rape Attempt of Minor Girl

Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh – In a shocking turn of events, Samajwadi Party leader Nawab Singh Yadav was arrested on the night of August 11th for allegedly attempting to rape a minor girl. The incident has sent shockwaves across the state, raising concerns about the safety and well-being of its citizens.

According to reports, the police received a distress call from the minor victim at around 1.30 am on August 12th. The girl, who is said to be around 15 years old, claimed that she had been stripped and an attempt had been made to assault her. The police responded swiftly to the call and arrived at the scene to find the accused in an “objectionable” condition.

The girl, accompanied by her paternal aunt, had gone to meet Nawab Singh Yadav at his residence, where he had allegedly promised her a job opportunity. During the meeting, Yadav is said to have made unwanted advances towards the minor, which led to the distress call being made.

Kannauj Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand confirmed the arrest and stated that a case has been registered against Yadav under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The girl is a minor, around 15 years of age,” said SP Anand, highlighting the gravity of the situation. “We have initiated legal proceedings against Yadav, and the investigation is ongoing to gather further details and evidence related to the incident.“The Samajwadi Party has distanced itself from Yadav, claiming that he is no longer a party worker. However, the incident has sparked a political row, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accusing the Samajwadi Party of shielding its leaders.

Nawab Singh Yadav is not just any SP leader; he has been a representative of MP Dimple Yadav,” said BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi. “The Samajwadi Party has always covered up such crimes under the policy that boys are boys and they make mistakes (‘ladke hai, ladko se galti ho jaati hai’).

The arrest of Nawab Singh Yadav has once again brought the issue of safety and security of women and children to the forefront. It is a stark reminder that much work needs to be done to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens, especially the most vulnerable. As the investigation continues, the public awaits further updates on the case and hopes for justice to be served swiftly.
