U.S., Israel Anticipate Iran’s Monday Attack.

U.S. and Israeli officials are bracing for a potential attack by Iran on Israel as early as Monday, following the recent assassinations of senior Hamas and Hezbollah leaders. The anticipation of an attack comes amid heightened tensions and vows of retaliation from Iranian and Hezbollah leaders. Reports indicate that Iran may launch an attack on Israel as soon as Monday, with Israel expecting a large-scale Iranian strike on military targets in central Israel.

The U.S. has deployed additional warships and fighter jets to the Middle East in an effort to help defend Israel from possible attacks by Iran and its proxies. This move comes as Washington seeks to boost its defenses ahead of a possible Iranian attack against Israel. The U.S. military has also taken steps to enhance its readiness in the region, including the deployment of the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group.

In a statement, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin praised the efforts of U.S. forces and allies, condemned the attacks, and reiterated both the U.S. right to defend its forces in the Middle East and the U.S. commitment to Israel. Austin also commended the professionalism and skill of the brave U.S. troops who took part in the actions and who continue to stand guard to prevent further conflict or escalation.

The situation in the Middle East remains tense as both sides prepare for potential conflict. The international community has called for restraint and de-escalation, with the heads of the G7 leading industrialized nations being “totally united” in the condemnation of Iran and the need to hold Iran to account for the assault.
